The Republican primary for governor just took a sharp turn for the nastier.
In a statement, Lee largely ignored Johnson's barbs, saying only that he would not focus on his political future until the legislative session ends May 5th. The Florida Army National Guard has 338 members serving in Iraq and 60 members in Kuwait, according to the governor's office.
But Michael Schiavo brushed aside a question about whether he was planning to run for something himself. The spirit of bipartisanship that surrounds the opening of any legislative session lasted about 30 minutes. The plan hasn’t moved much in the Senate, but it still has legs if for no other reason than it’s primary sponsors – Sansom and fellow Republican Reps.
Also this year, pollster Ed Goeas, national financial director Anne Dunsmore, treasurer Nancy Watkins and media consultant Adam Goodman have also left. It’s not the first group to try to use television to pressure the Legislature this spring.
